Description
A functional catchall and a wonderful conversation starter, this tray features a map created by Gerard Mercator, whose creations gave 16th-century geographers a new way of looking at the world. This version, in active circulation for over 50 years beginning in 1606, has allegorical representations of the sun, moon and the five known planets. The elements are on the left, the seasons on the right, and the seven wonders of the ancient world are along the bottom. Founded by Rafi & Mildred Mottahedeh more than 90 years ago, Mottahedeh creates home décor featuring complex and beautiful colors, unique historic shapes and centuries-old craftsmanship.
